Northern District Auditions

Kevin
Congratulations to all students who prepared programs for the Northern District Auditions. Students were required to play three compositions representing three of the following periods: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic or Contemporary. Also, student had to pass the examinations for their level on Theory Mastery Day and Sight Reading to enter this competition. Two students from our studio will be participating in the VA State Competitions in October, congratulations to Kevin and Raelyn! Congratulations also go to Cameron and Allison on receiving Honorable Mentions in this very competitive event, wow!

Ethan at Young Artist Musicale


Congratulations to Ethan! He was selected as one of the Young Artists to perform at GMU. He played compositions by C.Daquin and C. Debussy. 

 Young Artist Musicales are presented in conjunction with Jeffrey Siegel's "Keyboard Conversations" performances at GMU. The YAM series feature students selected by a Committee from NVTMA events. Ethan was selected after receiving Honors at NVMTA Judged Recital. Congratulations, Ethan!

Young Composer Competition


  Listen to Kayleigh's work "Dans Le Vol" performed by McLean Symphony

  Congratulations to Kayleigh on her composition awards! Her latest work, Variations on Theme of Cannethelix, has been receiving stunning feedback. Kayleigh is a 1st place winner of the 2019 WMTA Young Composer Competition, Senior Division.

Kayleigh is also a winner of the NVMTA Composition Competition and a recipient of Jo Lombard Award. Congratulations, Kayleigh!

Spring Forward!


 Our studio was well represented at the NVMTA Bach Baroque Festival/Competition. Students enjoyed an opportunity to play on a harpsichord in addition to hearing many wonderful performances during the event. After performing in two rounds of the competition, several students were chosen for the Honors Concert, well done everyone!
